has anyone noticed people on the internet have been kinda meaner since 2020? I don't mean the typical namecalling by randoms, but genuine uncalled for meanness and random flaming.

maybe it's because everyone's lives are so shit that they take it out on everyone else,
or maybe it's that since many people do work on the internet now, it's no longer perceived as a place to relax and have fun,
or maybe it's that with ai, people don't think of others without a face on the internet as human,
or maybe it's that with the flood of normies, we don't all have the shared experience of being outsiders anymore.
