Again, the WORST case is INFLAMMATION.
What happens is that acid reflux causes stomach acid to go up to the throat and voice box. to reiterate, It does NOT destroy Muscles or Nerves. Also Medication alleviates a lot of it.
The surgery is just for a permanent fix by fixing the flap valve, and like taco has proven, it's not a 100% success rate. He can just do the surgery again.

It was just so so so overdramatized and blown out of proportion.
It hurts to swallow, it's inflamed, it's annoying, I get it. He probably just overstated how he feels because he's in pain but Emi is out here cancelling stream because she's under the impression he is DYING which just isn't the case.
