What is the one time Jesus actually fights his enemies? It was when they were not following Jewish observances correctly. No other time. Do you know how unusual that is? Strange how Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and European Paganism, all feature their central figures demonstrating violence.
I know with a careful interpretation of the Bible it can be proven that the Jews are antithetical to Christianity and that essentially supercessionism is correct. But the fact remains all of the church leaders including the Catholic Church are not doing so.
Why? Because the NT is pacifist. Because it promises a next life, negating a requirement to fight for anything in this one.
As for the truth, rather than what is solely practical? Christianity arbitrarily replaced indigenous European religion 1.5k years ago. Christianity is ephemeral.
Anyway, I cannot convince you. It is too painful for most people to bear.
