if whatever you're heating your water with is far away you could just boil up a batch of water and keep it in some sort of insulated thermos to pour with.
people usually do gongfu with gaiwans which is basically more leaf, less water, shorter infusion times, many more infusions are possible, and with the smaller amount of water it cools down much quicker.
you could brew the normal way but you might have to have a few cups out if you want to keep brewing as it takes a few minutes to get cool enough, this is what i usually do since i don't use a gaiwan. 3 cups brewed consecutively and i just drink each as they cool off
