I uninstalled debian and went with Windows Enterprise LTSC simply because debian VLC doesnt support RTSP and VLC from snap supports RTSP but due to the environment neither debian apt OBS nor snap OBS would use snap VLC

the issue you mentioned is even documented on the arch wiki https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/VLC_media_player#Failed_to_connect_to_RTSP_stream

there are open source alternatives for most of that shit, some can be run under wine, or avoided because it's shit (adobe shitware)
