"The masses" were always sent off to war to die, etc, but these generations never got to get married early and put aside hyper-sexual fixations. Being unmarried, and beinf bombarded with extreme nudity, makes a man sex obsessed, and this is the entire focus of a man ages 16-30 (re: /r9k/). We live in the "information age" (a small blip as we reserve back to illiteracy) and yet we have gotten nowhere except "She has ugly knees" (you shouldn't even be able to see her knees).
It's just cause -> effect.
Actually in Judaism (if you want to blame someone other than your peers) says that an unmarried man is almost totally evil past a certain age or something.
