How to turn a tolerant person into a prejudiced person: give him international roommates from several different non-western cultures and have him try to make everyone agree on fair house rules.


How do you guys deal with Indian roommates? I have one who is particularly annoying. He cooks curry every day which is smelly and leaves dirty dishes to marinate in the sink all day. He puts shit stained toilet paper in the bin next to the toilet instead of flushing it down, which makes the bathroom smell like a mix of shit and curry. He listens to loud Indian music all day with speakers instead of headphones including at fairly late hours. Since I want him to change on more than one issue I don't know how to break everything to him without sounding like an asshole. I already had to relay instructions from the RA to him on fire hazards so I've already had to sort of spent my "change this" capital.

I just started some passive-aggressive tactics like annymously moving the bins in the bathrooms away from the toilet seat. I don't know how well that'll work yet.
