To put a very long story short, the ceremony involves everyone larping as adam and eve in the garden with satan. As the story unfolds, you the member make multiple promises to god that you will remain faithful followers. In the process, you are taught various hand signs, secret handshakes and also don strange clothing as marks of the promises made. At the end there is a large white curtain (the veil) where workers larp as angels and only let you through if you know these secret handshakes and answer their questions appropriately. Once you go through the veil, you end up in 'heaven', the so called celestial room of the temple. This is the end of the ceremony, but you are free to stay in this room to contemplate or pray as you wish.
I did not know of it when I was still a practicing member, but there are more things that happen in the temple too. The so called 'second anointing' which I find particularly disgusting. Only the most premier high up members of the church get this, but the gist of it is that once they receive this, they are guaranteed to go the heaven. No matter what. Yeah. I obviously don't know the specifics of this one, as I never got it and I doubt anyone I know has. And even if I do, its "too sacred to discuss."
