Race does matter to some degree, people might be a bit more biased at the start if you look like you aren’t from around here, but if you are a citizen of a country it’s in most cases resolved if you share the same culture
Not in all though, in some small villages here it can happen that some old grandpa will call you a sand nigger or gyps if you have black hair
