>>22174181Rundown from a landed southerner:
Firstly, since you're not a literal yankee they'll be easier to get along with.
(In no order)
That said, people will be warm and welcoming to you, let them feed you and they'll take care of you.
Do NOT reject food offers by people you are visiting with.
Especially do not reject sweet tea if offered.
The women are typically good women, will do whatever you want and treat you like a king, especially if you treat them good. They are definitely very fun and open minded.
Don't judge people or gossip about people, mind your business; You absolutely cannot tell any southerner how to live their life (but they will tacitly accept advice). The reason why I'm telling you not to judge people openly is because honor is a huge thing there; Face and grace are real beliefs there. They most certainly care about saving Face and maintaining a semblance of honor (even if they don't refer to it as such).
Avoid flyting with them if possible because they won't forget if they feel wronged by you. That said banter is normal enough but save it for after you are better acquainted.
They're often slow to start things usually (talk slow and smooth too) but once they're started they're like a hurricane blowing through a popsickle stick house.
Violence is normal and an acceptable part of life; Guns and weapons are common fare and topic.
Dandies still exist and high education is valued but media blemishes this fact.
PLEASE have proper manners. We whoop eachother over that stuff.
Say whatever is polite for your situation and "give honor".
Jobs will either treat you like a slave or be hyper relaxed; People value being "bossman" and "working smarter, not harder". It will seem like work shirking but it's actually selective labor.
Value system is as typically follows: Hyper individualism, freedom, family & spirituality, honor/Face, good manners.
If you win them over they'll do anything for you and go to the ends of the earth for you.
