Here's the test to see whether your knees are fucked:
>For four days straight run one mile each day.>Do not use a treadmill, do an actual mile at whatever speed you need to go to not walk at any point during the run/jog>Day 1 should be mostly okay>Day 2 will probably be quite painful, you may need to walk a short portion of the jog toward the end.>Day 3 might be a bit better, might be a bit worse than day 2, but you should be able to maintain the jog cadence.>Day 4 should be better than Day 3any subsequent day should be completely fine.
If your knees still complain at this point you may need to see some doctor.
They may also complain on longer runs (say, doing 2 miles per day), but incrementally increasing the distance shouldn't be super difficult.
