A ton on both counts. I think part of why they chose Colorado is that RTD has lots of recent experience in building commuter train lines that people use right away after construction.
Once they finish the first section, they can start off-setting the price with the revenue.

That does seem like a problem to maintain a vacuum, unless they came up with design improvements or efficiency increased. My main problem with this is it seems very fragile, like a slight error in the hyperloop like a crack or something and it fucks up

There's no transparent material strong enough to make a huge, 500km plus vacuum chamber with, steel would have to be used.
Impossible to create a still tube that big, welding smaller sections is not feasible because welds would break due thermal expansion. Using joins would be a maintenance nightmare.
Any breach in the vacuum chamber would cause a deadly shockwave that'd kill anyone in the tube.

I think the reasoning regarding that is that 80% or so of Colorado's population lives in a straight line along the southern Rockies. This way they can buy cheap land just outside of the several cities to the east, and they can still have consistent ridership all along the length.

What about the municipal and social aspects? What happens when these disconnected cities essentially become one? What about the cities not on the route?

The fastest they've gotten anything to move inside the hyperloop is 30 mph and the dipshits don't take measures to prevent rusting, so the entire interior of the hyperloops become covered in rust.

There's no point because the prototypes in a 1km test track couldn't even make it to 100 kph. 1 fucking kilometer, my regular ass, 160hp Ford Focus goes to 100kmh in 200m. They're better using just maglevs that are perfectly capable of doing 400km+ without massive waste of public money.

No wonder China is beating the US so hard, they already have maglevs on commercial service while the US wasted tax money on snake oil.

Im assuming you watched the thunderf00t video. I do agree with some of the things.
But as of current i dont think the hyperloop will run at maximum efficiency at current technology. I didnt watch most of either videos so im not an expert on either opinion however hyperloops seem like they would be a boon to the postal service.
