Firstly the "middle" is always relative to what we define as poles.
It is not true at all that the temperature in which life developed is the "middle ground" since you didn't even define what your polar opposites are. And even then this wouldn't prove anything about the universal applicability of the concept.
By this logic, the right thing to do under Hitler was to only invade half of Europe and only kill half of the people they killed. Its baseless nonsense. There are many instances where a middle ground between two well defined poles is a satisfactory answer but to claim this is universally true is retarded.
