>>22486526I am going to bed but I wanna mention some stuff about your options. I heard the Orthodox Church is very God-centric rather than people-centric, so you shouldn't really get much of a feeling about the people in there at all. The Catholic Church is relatively God-centric too, you just sit(/kneel/stand) there and listen; no one tries to talk to you. You might feel some sense of conformism in its doctrine, though. Also, there are the Quaker "churches" in which people just sit around and talk to each other about their life experiences or something, which is kinda the opposite of God-centric, but it might not have the conformist feeling.
T.bh I don't think you absolutely need to attend any church if you find them all too boring or something. You can try to learn through reading, praying, and keeping God in mind in your daily life.
>they always say to not pick and choose like goldilocks, to just stick with a church through thick and thinIf you happen to be Protestant this is especially silly because Protestantism's whole foundation was the antithesis of this. If you plan on possibly having kids, I think you have to think about it with that in mind. Your parents will be gone eventually and all that will remain is whatever denomination you and your kids are part of, so you want to raise them in the right one.
Sorry if this annoying evangelizing and sorry Tommy that your thread's replies are mostly about religion instead of alcoholism...
