>>22505153>it's not "sub-plots" or "lore pieces"It literally is, and you are talking out of your ass.
>we still get quests just outside of empty black screen this timeWe haven't had a single hidden quest since 1.0
Also, this is a non-sequitur. Yes, we are getting quests. No, we are not getting quests because we have uncovered something in Lost Void.
We did get quests for uncovering something in Hollow Zero.
You are being disingenuous.
>who the hell had trust event in hollow apart from Billy?I can immediately recall Anby and Soldier 11. There are probably more, but I don't really remember.
>you still get agent trust dialogs in rest areasYes, as I have corrected myself.
Except now you get a couple of dialogue lines, and in Hollow Zero you were given a short narrative on top of that, for example how you'd discover Jane's hideout and have a minor confrontation with her.
>"lore pieces scattered around" were almost always in a form of description on items that we also still receive1) Factually fucking wrong - there is a massive amount of lore that was presented in the form of tape recordings
2) We are NOT getting anything like that in Lost Void.
>headcanon>Pft, ok.That's not headcanon.
That's me returning you your own words and you literally not understanding what the hell you are even talking about.
>like it's a good idea to make the audience of your movie read a chapter straight from the book in subtitles?Ironically, this is what we are getting NOW.
You have to read story in the subtitles NOW because the narrative is being given through the on-field dialogue during combat and travel, and if you want to hear all of it, you have to sit there doing fuck all, so you don't accidentally skip over shit.
Meanwhile, countless adventure stories got away with presenting the player with a lot of lore while given the option of speed-reading, returning to it later, or skipping it completely.
All of that was present in the TV, and all of it was just fine.
