>>22542116The most demanding thing our police did before all of this shitfest was curbstomping students and chasing old woman selling lettuce. We literally did not have killing sprees like the ones happening nowadays before the caribbean migration (mainly vuvuzelans), our police is not capable of handling that kind of crime (ie, we didn't have torture houses since le heckin based helicopter guy but nowadays it's common to see them on drug-related crimes).
Also, one of the cons of having a kinda stable country is that bureaucracy throws a wrench on the speed on how fast you can actually do stuff: you don't have populist presidents propping up short-term solutions that may or may not work, so everything gets a really long-winded debate in the congress and it can be pretty exhausting (far-right pushing on death penalties for literally every single crime and far-left literally defending the dindus)
>>22542927I mean they are far away from migration corridors to the US, making them less of a target for human trafficking, organized crime and stuff. We didn't escape the US in the '70s (Operation Condor), i don't see any country besides best korea actually escaping the US influence.
