>>22569090I’m just going to be genuine
I liked it a lot. Multiple pics, vids with sound, multiple vids, no captcha, super looser standards leading to a wild pol that felt like the early 2000s because successive waves of insufferable people didn’t lead to stifling tactics (although true ingenuity would lead to not stifling but adapting and insisting on a vision)
However the long term viability of the sites ways when you have 270k people including nerds, glowies, studying posting pysyop and trolling tactics as well as the very coding of the site, whether or not Basedjack became another 4chin eventually is debatable.
But this site also has gravitas by virtue of it’s history, it’s the first place people go in many cases when they want to see what the infamy, the alternative opinions, what beliefs are held in a true freedom of speech area are.
Heck, even the jannies and management copied some things as they saw the board had a lot more input by allowing tangentially related things to politics broached on the board, and shortening of the captcha.
Also for some reason the people felt more genuine, in the way that I’d make successive posts, and if people felt I was right the thread would either stop or go a new tangent, whereas here there’s a lot more goal-post shifting when someone realizes they’re losing the argument, but even that’s been mitigated by an affable language backhanded self-congratulatory surrender “okay John, well wishing on that. I’ll enjoy my blank while you try!”
Basedjack actually made a noticeable impact on board leadership and board culture. That’s fudging impressive.
I might visit every so often, but I do acknowledge this site has potency in world affairs and because of it’s cultural impact.
