Now - under normal circumstances when you get caught doing that shit, you're escorted out, cash out whatever you have on you, and you're barred from the casino. The casino gets rid of the advantage player, but avoids unwanted drama. Where this guy fucked up was in deliberately sneaking around to avoid attempts by casinos to identify the manipulations and take the casinos to the cleaners for hundreds of thousands of dollars. He could have made a little money, gotten banned, and taken the win, instead he tried to be clever, got greedy, and got caught. And with that much money on the line the casinos obviously weren't just gonna let him cash it out and call it square - he knowingly violated their business policies which means he doesn't have a leg to stand on in court, regardless of the legality of his actions.
