The word ‘dictatorship’ when Marx talks about it is meaning a transition state where the working class, who now got control over the means of production , uses it for tearing down capitalism’s structural system. Basically, it is like the phase where working class starts rebuild society.
Did we ever have it? No. Again, because 1917 Russia wasn't capitalist in the first place. It was agrarian, which is why Stalinism happened with forced industrialization and role of the party was so high, instead of being relinquished back to the proletariat.
