My dad's been drinking more and more heavily the last few years, and I'm pretty sure it's given him actual brain damage at this point. Like he's not unintelligent, but he's been doing a lot of really stupid self-destructive shit and engaging in attention seeking behavior. I can't see it as anything but brain damage at this point.

It's sad. Anyway 74 drinks in a week isn't hard. My dad drinks probably 20 a day every day. I was up to 8 per day before I quit five years ago, haven't had a drink since.

This. I drink about 49-55 drinks per week. It's all about when you start drinking and when you have to be sober for work. Many variables go into a hangover as well.

I was between 9th and 10th. I would miss a lot of work and lose jobs frequently from being hungover. If I could keep it together I was always a little drunk. By the end I could keep it clean until the weekend and then spent over $200 a night on $5 or less drinks. Never had anyone taking care of me. Drank a lot at home in the middle and had a job that was 8 10s and then 6 off so you could be drunk for almost a week. I spent a lot of time gooning. I would drink more at home after the bar for hours so I wasnt 'too drunk' to drive or be in public.

20 a day is extremely heavy, anon. That's almost a bottle of liquor a day. Had a buddy die at 32 from internal bleeding that drank that much a day. Refused to go to the doctor after a car crash because they'd have made him dry out

In the US a drink is standardized as 12oz of beer that is less than 5%, 8oz of wine at less than 20% or 1oz of liquor over 20%. You'll notice a Dixie or similar plastic cup has lines to measure those three points.

You build tolerance to it. I drink a whole bottle of whiskey and am fine to work the next day. Do this about 3 times a week. Helps to be big, you can handle more.

Just don't drive for the rest of the night after a binge drinking session. A DUI is the only thing about alcohol that will really sneak up on you in 5 seconds and instantly fuck up your life.
If you're worries about weight gain, count your calories--count several your drinks as a meal basically. Fast a bit if needed. I actually lost weight binge drinking every night with all this in mind

Used to consume around ~35-40+ drinks per weekend. That was two bottles of 70cl spirit and six to twelve ales. I couldn't be a day drinker without literally dying.

I used to drink one handle of vodka per day at my worst near the end. I started on my 21st birthday with a 30-pack of beer and stayed drunk until acute liver failure at age 35 last year.

I'd wake up at 3AM and just start chugging vodka. Had a bottle in my desk at work, etc. My entire life was based around either acquiring or drinking booze. The withdrawal was the hardest thing I've ever been through. Makes the rest of life feel like easy-mode. I haven't experienced a challenge i can't handle since.
