aren't they extensions of our own consciousness talking back to you? in out of body experiences you're able to truly see yourself for what you are
when you see those entities full of impossible splendor, aren't we just seeing our soul with its ridiculous ability to comprehend a world full of social dynamics, memories, and complex ideas in its trueness?
the entire world as we know it is ourself, its not impossible to create fully conscious beings you can interact with
