now I can't vouch for the validity of this information, but from what I've been able to piece together most of, if not all, of the spam raids are orchestrated by one guy from a different website. I know for a fact that he was the one who did the "epic" raid on /qa/ and /po/, and they followed a very similar formula to the ones that we've experienced, although I think the "I want to smell her farts" raid was different.
