>>22716833>what went wrong.A LOT of fucking things went wrong.
>Helecoptor parentsThis is a big issue, a lot of Gen Y were not given room to explore, fail, learn, and grow, many of them are just overgrown children.
>The Betrayed generation. Gen Y got sold up the river fucking HARD by their parents, they were told the lie of "Just be your self," "Do good in school" "You have to go to college or else you wont be sucessful." "Hard work pays off" ect ect.
But the reality is, none of that is true and they bought it hook line and sucker, and are very very bitter about it.
>Constantly being economically knee capped. Gen Y got fucked too by constant economic crisies before their peak investment years. We had Dot com at the start, we had 9/11, then 2008 housing crisis, then Covid. All of which basically crippled the vast majority of Gen ys early investment years which is THE most important time.
>Mass Globalization of the job market. The Job market for a lot of Gen Y also became global, and the reality is, most US Gen Y cant compete with cheap foreign labor leaving them basically fighting tooth and nail for jobs.
>No real hope for the future.Because of the aformentioned issues, a lot of Gen Y basically just gave the fuck up, because for many of them, weather its true or not, they see their future just being working x10 hard/longer then their parents, for x10 less of a life.
Its both a situation of they got delt a really shitty hand, and they just stewed in it as well.
