He doesn't exist independent outside of religions that have their lore being one that he is the pinnacle of evil that is selfish and the greatest deceiver of any entity in existence.

Selling your soul doesn't net you anything, and if you're so willing to give up your soul for gain then he has no motivation to make a deal to you, in practice in Scripture, the only people he actively tempts are those that are righteous. If you aren't righteous anyway, that's a gimme for him. You're not a prize, he has no motivation to pursue you when you're not going to resist him so why even entertain the concept of selling your soul when you will get nothing at all?
That's sort of the issue with the edgy joking about selling your soul. If you're in the market, he already has your soul. It's like the most retarded bargaining to ever exist, you're walking up to someone with a handful of air and saying "what will you give me for it?".
