/b/ was fine until they began trying to contain everything. They tried to contain the Japanese culture discussion with /jp/, they tried to contain the nazi-faggotry with /pol/, they tried to contain the forced meme garbage with /s4s/ and left /b/ a husk of it's former self that was quickly over-run with porn. Now they realize that the people who they tried to "contain" don't want to stay on their designated topics but refuse to go back to /b/ because they allowed it to become complete and utter trash so they need to create an alternative board.
They should have never tried to contain shit, it fucked up the balance that kept /b/ what it was.
