I have a weird hobby. I zoom around small towns on Google Maps and say "wow what the fuck, how could anyone live here??" I partake in this hobby several times a month.

some small towns are like half life tier creepy shit, apparently there's towns like this in colorado
others are nice and have local events and would be great places to grow up

the town (Hamilton, Indiana) seemed nice, but the store still had a creepy small town grocery store vibe. It's probably pretty similar to the small grocery store I used to go to with my mom as a kid, but somehow it's creepy to me now. I'm just used to the big chains now

thinking back on it now, it might have mostly been the lighting. I wouldn't say it was dimly lit, but the lighting in stores like Walmart and Target is very bright by comparison

the smaller size (it had like... 5 aisles) was strange

there's 3 main grocery stores (walmart, kroger, brookshire's), and each one is like a different class of people
