>>22790778You mean the rebels who somehow got their hands on advanced Russian military equipment (which they then used to shoot down a passenger plane) and were led by revanchist Russian nationalists like Strelkov? Those rebels? I do think it's interesting how these totally organic "people's" movements sprang up only after it was discovered there was vast mineral wealth in the areas Russia wants to conquer, I bet that's sheer coincidence! These people whom you claimed to care about and then threw under the bus when you drafted them into the meatgrinder day one of your stupid war. Ironic too, given that the numbers killed by shelling had been decreasing steadily in the years before the war.
At any rate, Ukraine has a right to police its internal security issues at it sees fit because it's a sovereign nation. Sovereignty which you agreed to uphold in exchange for taking away their nukes, since you broke that promise yeah maybe they should get them back, everything is on the table when you threaten to erase a nation for daring to step out of line. At least then you might have thought twice before invading.
Make whatever excuses you want but that's what this conflict is really about, it's the ultimate crab in a bucket trying to pull down its supposed "brother" and comrade because it wanted to improve its circumstances. That and the pure greed which drove the largest and most mineral rich country on earth to grab even more land and minerals it doesn't need instead of just being happy that their brothers could see some success of their own. Maybe you should ask yourself if destroying the land and bombing the people you claim to be protecting is really worth it, or if it's merely to make the oligarchs who rule you a little bit richer and your land a little bigger. The pride of your dear leader is not worth killing over.
