i think the real issue is that young men are told all the things they shouldn't be but have no actual examples of positive masculinity and are told that all of the things that have always given men purpose are wrong now. you can't chase women because that violates their rights. you can't chase wealth and status because those things make you an asshole. you can't try to start a family because women only care about their careers until they hit 30. what else is there? this is when men end up purposeless and adrift and vulnerable to all sorts of shit like this.
men have chased women for billions of years and the past, present and future of the human race literally depend on it, at some level you have to let boys be boys and let girls learn to deal with it. if that impulse isn't cultivated in a positive way it turns into mental illness and a host of other bad shit.
