They are npcs, it's a country of robots. It's clean, organazied, peaceful but they are robots.
Standing in the middle of nowhere because of a sign when absolutely nothing is happening makes you a robot.
You trust the authority of someone else over your own judgement.
I respect street sign 99% of the time because 99% of the time it's valid. I can tell crossing would be dangerous but I appreciate the fact that they place these to facilitate trafic.
I'm not going to stand there and look at the sky when nobody is around though. I have a conciousness. I can tell that I'm not endangering anyone or myself by crossing when I shouldn't because there is not a single soul around.
