i can't help but feel it makes you more complacent/deadened the more it happens, and that it's partially irrecoverable
there's this program called WWOOF, it's a coalition of farms around the world
you can pick one of them & go there, you can volunteer to help around the farm in exchange for food and a place to stay
i've heard good stories from people who who did it, idk though
you could also work on a cargo ship maybe, it seems like that sort of work is quiet/peaceful for a few months while the ship is in transit
