Anime and manga might influence people to think or behave in certain ways, even if those ways are mostly cringe. For now, I haven't seen any important anime-like media that encourage people to the "Transgender ways". Sure, there have been crossdressers and ambiguous gender characters in different works since way back. I don't know if intentional, so I won't speculate any further
So far I've seen one character that is supposed to represent the "transgender struggle", and that would be one character in a manga/anime called "Blue Period", the long-haired blonde one, I don't know the name because I haven't watch it lmao
The other one is from "Umineko no Naku Koro Ni", but I don't even know the name or how the character look like lol. This one, as far as I'm concerned, is like a cornerstone on "representation of trans people" in anime-like media. But I wouldn't say it's something that serious. I mean, people arguing about that character's gender are from Xwitter, so that explains everything
