They're much less religious in the East and some of their traditions around the holidays are totally different even in some cases. They are less educated, more conservative, poorer, and are frustrated by what they see as unfair treatment by Western Germany. It's still referred to as "Ostblock" meaning Eastern Bloc, referencing the Cold War Iron Curtain. Infrastructure is worse over there and trains are even less reliable than the Western half due to chronic mismanagement. Higher unemployment, lower annual income, lower GDP per capita, population loss, consistent emigration towards the West for a better life, much lower total assets (around 50% on average relative to Western Germany households.) They should probably revolt and kill all the Western Germans
