iktf im 29 and it's still an issue what works for me:
sorry literally no diary or alcohol, minimize sugar/sweets (other than like fruit) and also have had issues with eggs I think and super oily food.
If I avoid these I'm good but when I have it once I have issues again and it takes like 20 days to a month to go away. you have to stop for a while to see it.
For active ingredients I shill de la cruz sulfur ointment, it's so cheap it's basically free and handles anti fungal, anti bacterial, and is a keratolytic (basically causes cells to regenerate).
I have retarded sensitive skin so another issue I had was doing too much what works for me is. Rinse face with water once a day, then use a actual face wash once a day, then use sulfur treatment, 3 days with no treatment, then 1 day with so I have a 3 day gap w/o sulfur.
Also sleep and stress are really important.
Do NOT under any circumstances rush to use some active treatment without patch testing and using it every day, I did this and had the most insane shit on my face that lasted like 2 months because of it. Go slow and careful slowly modifying things as I said it can take a month to see the impact of everything, The health/safety stuff is easiest.
Also for "picking at it" and "popping" get steel lancets for diabetes, and hydrocoloid bandages (i like cosrx ones)
dont touch your face, don't pick at stuff. if something loosk like it can pop lance it, then put the hydrocoloid bandage on it. Don't force anything.
