There's that Döner shop a few streets away that I used to frequent, and I recently learned that they raised their prices to 7€ per Döner. 5.50€ on Mondays, which is still expensive, but 7€ for a takeaway Döner is outrageous.
The guys at the shop always greeted me politely, and I thought of them as a shining example of something that other immigrants could imitate and follow. Not only were they polite, but they basically greeted me as a friend.
Paying 7€ for a Döner while the new guy didn't even recognise me, was quite upsetting. Did they ever really care in the first place? Times are changing rapidly and I'm just struggling to find my place in this world.
