>>23211673First verifiable piece of evidence:
The sun hits the underside of clouds
The sun must therefore be at a lower angle than the clouds
The sun is not physically going below the clouds, as you concede
This is a local phenomenon, ie the sun doesn't go below the clouds everywhere at once
This is only possible with a curved Earth and a distant sun
Anyone can observe this for themselves, including NOT near bodies of water, and I encourage them to look out for it
Evidence two:
The sun and moon stay at the same apparent angular size no matter how close they get to the horizon or even on the horizon
For them to pass under the horizon while still staying at the same apparent angular size, they must be rotating around us, or we must be rotating around them
This is, again, a local phenomenon, the sun and moon don't set everywhere at the same time
This can again only happen on a curved earth
This is harder to look out for, but again, I encourage anyone to look out for it themselves, it is perhaps the most damning
Evidence three:
Use two levels to place a camera completely flat on every axis, line one up with the camera so you can measure the horizon
Go to a high elevation
Observe that the horizon dips below eye level more the higher you go
Therefore if you go high enough the horizon recedes all around, ie it will at the very least look like a ball
Harder still to test but I encourage anyone to test this
Three easy pieces of evidence anyone can verify for themselves.
