It’s just sort of hard to really comprehend how those writers they called the “beats” made such an influential mark on western society. It’s not that hard to see the effect, but I still wonder if I truly understand why. I want to read them again but I just don’t have the time really.
Wow I just found out there was a jazz age, that’s interesting. I should like to know more about the Jazz age.
It just sort of seems like for me when I look at who or what had the most cultural impact in sort of a recent time span that’s still relative, I think it must be both world wars for me I feel like, I just can’t help but feels it goes back to that for me for some reason.
I found about the jazz age because I looked up Scott Fitzgerald. The beats were considered really good writers, but for some reason Fitzgerald is one of my favorite writers too and I wonder what that means and what the difference is. It makes me more curious about the 1920s.
I guess it just seems like socially and culturally movements and trends or what have you were a lot more influenced by the wars then they were by prominent figures or artistic movements
