downloaded the cod ww2 beta recently
have a shitty amd cpu which is over 5 yrs old (AMD FX-8150)
play game at about 18fps
thinking my life is simply just not worth it
have no money for intel upgrade

I may be better off just kms

that's not that bad a setup, sounds like you should be getting better results. like others have suggested tho, ryzen 3 or 5 upgrade would be probs better value than an intel atm. unless you're getting a second hand deal

Those temps should LOAD for a stock 8150 even on very mediocre cooling

Even when playing games it wont go over 2.1GHz? What temps are it hitting during playing? Sounds like it's thermal throttling (underclocking and undervolting) to not kill itself. Does your CPU cooler's fans even spin? Is the cooler installed correctly? Did you apply thermalpaste? How long has it been since you applied thermal paste?

it was months ago i dont remember exactly
but i disabled some things that were about energy saving, not like i care about environment or my bills.

i played with frequencies a bit too, but nothing fancy.
ended up reseting everything to defaults

Give me a screenshot or validation of CPUz. Also, screenshot whatever program you're on that shows your temperatures.

When you load the CPU with a game, program, stresstest or whatever. Do the temps shoot up real fast? Or gradually? So 1-2 seconds vs 10 seconds for example. Same for going back to idle, do the temps go back down quickly?

idk why the temps are still that high

4-5 seconds for the temps to increase by 1 celsius? Sounds like your fan might not just be ramping up with the temps. Can you start a game, and PAY ATTENTION to cpuz to see if the CPU atleast clocks up for a few seconds before going back down?

No, that is a feature called cool n quiet as far as i remember. It's to save power and run cooler when not under load. Let it be.

If you actually reset your bios then it shouldnt be underclocking, these things dont require you to do some magic in the bios to run at t heir rated speed.

I am running arma in the virtual arsenal and AMD Overdrive is telling me that the Core temp is at about 50°C

Okei...
It's still running at 1.4GHz on load, temperature is staying at 50°C so I guess it's not overheating.

Only thing I saw was a warning from AMD Overdrive about CPU Voltage bing a little to high.

So now it's either I need to find help elsewhere or I can't be helped

Reset, put settings to default or whatever the fuck and delete it. Problem solved.

Provide screenshot if the settings you changed before you delete it.
