Free Speech is predicated on, at the very least, freedom to express your views on things without being murdered violently. In truth the spirit of free speech should mean you also shouldn't get fired for your political views if you're acting lawfully, but the core notion is that you should be protected and free to express your beliefs.
Reporting leftists and getting them fired has obvious spite and real politik behind it, I mean, fucking duh, but it's also crucial to the issue at hand - these folk are saying ERM FREEDOM FROM SPEECH ISN'T FREEDOM FROM CONSEQUENCES SWEETIE to justify overt and outright murder. If we extend their reasoning we justify such actions, and make freedom of speech truly meaningless - valued even less than it has already been devalued.
TLDR: It's not hypocritical to go after Leftists for grave dancing on Charlie Kirk because they're tacitly and implicitly rendering freedom of speech as a concept worthless by doing so
