It has existed for many years and it seems to me like it represents the feel of the older, more fun Web-browsing experience like a breath of fresh air, compared to how most of the Web is now. It's sort of like 4chan but maybe less savage and you might also want to check it out.
I also remember an old website called "The Experience Project" from 2013 and earlier that was a nice place to find friends and share experiences, unfortunately it got indefinitely suspended and content got locked away. I had an account there.
