If you are still falling for the left vs right dichotomy then you are just doomed. Both parties have had plenty of time to reverse things, but somehow the rich are always getting richer and everyone else is getting poorer no matter who is in the office.
I really think americans should kill all left and right wing politicials to clean the slate completely and create a political party system with more than 2 parties.
This is too "brutal" for the average person, but that's what's needed. The only way to defeat people in power is to kill them because they would rather kill you than give up their own power to make everyone else's life more reasonable
