Gibson has owned Epiphone since the 50’s. I’ve always seen Epiphone in very capable hands. It still may be a production issue.

Epiphones are ok, but the candanon is correct, they are typically lower tier, cheaper, they are good guitars though, but yea it's like a knockoff les Paul, but yea still a decent guitar, good for beginners or novice like myself

some other things, this is
definitely something you

i had an epiphone flying V, it was a good quality guitar on par with a gibson, some of the more recent gibson les pauls look cheap, i know at one point they were drilling holes in the bodys, not sure what for maybe to save weight, and also putting the electronics/knobs on a single pcb,

my mate had a gibson and an epiphone les paul, and he reckoned the epiphone was a better guitar, i played the gibson and it was a nice high quality one, one of them was a custom possibly the gibson.
