At least 10 years ago or more. The last time I was in there, some highschool student was pushing all the sandwich droppings on the counter back into their respective containers. I suggested she didn’t do that because it is probably contaminated sitting on the counter mixed with bacteria. She does it all the time, no one complained before. I've been a Jersey Mike's/Firehouse Subs guy for the last 8 years cause I have a real job now, but a month or two ago I gave Subway a try after not having literally since college.

Not only is it expensive and not worth it (rather spend the extra few dollars and get jersey mikes), but they fucking cuck you in the bread now. It's like 40% thinner/less wide than what it was, if that. And I wonder if it's even a footlong. What a terrible place

Here in Canada the federal government will furthermore cover part of their wage.

When I was in the military every base had a Subway and even they were fully staffed with Americans. That was 11 years ago. Now you can't go anywhere in New Jersey without seeing an Indian-run Subway. The ones by me all have signs on the front door saying "We dont accept coupons." All the tables and chairs are flipped upside down so they don't allow dine in. All the napkins, cup lids, chips are behind the counter and must be asked for. I can count 5 right now in my area like this.
