The point of practicing in Soka Gakkai is awakening your full potential as a human being in this world not in a forest in the bumfuck of nowhere. If people become attracted to you it means your human revolution is working and you became more charismatic and resilient as a result of your practice.

The only reason why SGI gets lumped together with them is that it originated as a branch of Nichiren Shoshu but it actually preserves all the oldest teachings without adding unnecessary new age slop.
