I don't think daily lives as a non-military person in the various factions in planetside 2 or in starship troopers is that bad. wh40k is dystopian because its core philosophy is being as grimderp as possible. In starship troopers they went to school and attended school dances, the right to vote is so meaningless and any idiot who wants to vote that bad should be canonfodder for the military.
