if it wasn't trendy you would have a different opinion. Maybe you'd still think it's ugly but you wouldn't have strong feelings against it, some designs are definitely cool, like the old stanford ones. But since they're meant to be used to represent your school I don't even think you're supposed to like them unless you literally went to stanford or whatever
