its likely you are misunderstanding what it means for example lots of antidepressant meds say they aren't suitable for suicidal people because when you first start taking them they can cause suicidal thoughts. however this dosent mean they aren't suitable for people who have suicidal thoughts it just means its a bad idea to give them to someone who is actively planning to kill themself.
