We have one word for it: płeć (either a girl or a boy)
Also, our verbs have different endings, depending on whether you speak about a girl or a boy doing something, like, for example:
"Im went to the school yesterday"
1. Girl: PoszŁAM do szkoły wczoraj
2. Boy: PoszEDŁEM do szkoły wczoraj.
And it gets even more complicated with other tenses, also not to mention nouns who are even more gender specific than in English.
