the peer pressure from my running buddy helped alot, we would do 3 to 7 miles every few days
my time perception was crazily slowed down for a few hours right afterwards, the feeling of being FORCED into the moment by the strain/punishment became something to crave
i guess any sort of change will often feel like punishment, whether the change is physical or mental or both
body is pretty amazing though, self-balancing system within a grand self-balancing system made of tons of little self-balancing systems
