i got out 6 years ago when my 6 year contract ended. If i re-enlisted and did 14 more years i'd have a pension by age 44 but the pension isnt even the drive; i just liked dressing up in uniform, getting paid to shoot guns, and the formality and comradery
30 isnt too old to re-enlist either. When I was in a 40 year old re-enlisted and joined my squad after a 12 year break in service just to add enough years of service for a pension
