namely smallpox and polio, these almost never used in the modern world these days though so probably the next worst thing that we have is RNA vaccines for covid but they are far far safer than the polio and smallpox ones and are being phased out.
additionally the older polio vaccine was way way worse than the ones used today because a lot of it was contaminated with SV40.
basically the whole reason for distrust of vaccines stems from older vaccines that were genuinely kinda risky and the fact that we recently had a largely untested RNA vaccine that had a bunch of nasty side effects forced on us while efforts were made to hide the fact it caused said side effects.
generally speaking modern vaccines that just use inactivated virus cells are nearly 100% safe and don't cause any of the issues people claim such as causing autism ect.
